چکیده
Aneuretinae is an enigmatic ant subfamily with poorly defined morphological boundaries. Aneuretus simoni Emery, 1893, found only in Sri Lanka, a “living fossil”, the known extant species of Aneuretinae. In distant past, however, was more diverse and widespread, including eight extinct genera spread across North America, Europe, Russian Far East. Here, we report two fossil species, Protaneuretus succineus Wheeler, 1915 Paraneuretus tornquisti 1915, late Eocene (Priabonian, 37.8–33.9 Ma) Rovno amber (Ukraine), providing distinguishing features measurements. These first recorded amber, were originally described from Baltic similar Priabonian age. new records raise number reported ants to 77 39 9 subfamilies, indicate that distributed both on northern southern coasts Paratethys. Fossil evidence suggests originated Northern Hemisphere entered India Lanka after Indian subcontinent collided Asia ~59 Ma. Why survived present remains mystery.

A new genus of Podonominae (Diptera: Chironomidae) in Late Eocene Rovno amber from Ukraine.
The genus Palaeoboreochlus Baranov et Andersen, n. gen. is erected based on P. inornatus Baranov et Andersen, n. sp. described from a male found in Late Eocene Rovno amber. The new genus groups with Boreochlus Edwards in the tribe "Boreochlini".
متن کاملA new species of the genus Disogmus Förster (Hymenoptera, Proctotrupoidea, Proctotrupidae) from the Eocene Rovno amber
Disogmus rasnitsyni Kolyada & Perkovsky, sp. n. is described from a fossil inclusion of Late Eocene amber (Ukraine). The new species is most similar to Disogmus basalis (Thomson, 1857), in particular, in the shape of the tyloids and the general shortening of the segments of antennae, but distinctly differs from it and the other species of the genus by having tyloids on flagellar segments 2-4 co...
متن کاملFive New Records of Ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) From Morocco
A recent catalogue of the rich ant fauna of Morocco included 214 species, with later studies adding an additional 12 species. Following recent fieldwork in the north of Morocco, we report five new records for the country (Plagiolepis pygmaea Latreille, 1798, Ponera testacea Emery, 1895, Strumigenys tenuipilis Emery, 1915, Temnothorax pardoi Tinaut, 1987, and Tetramorium parvioculum Guillem & Be...
متن کاملNew records of ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) from Iran
The ant species list of Iran is far from complete. So far, only 110 species belonging to 26 genera have been recorded from Iran. For this study, we collected the majority of ant material in two periods of field work in spring and summer of 2007 and 2008. In total, we checked more than 35,000 specimens, and recorded 32 species and six genera new to Iran: Dolichoderus, Myrmecina, Proformica, Pyra...
متن کاملA new genus of highly specialized ants in Cretaceous Burmese amber (Hymenoptera: Formicidae).
A new genus of ants, Zigrasimecia Barden and Grimaldi, is described for a new and uniquely specialized species, Z. tonsora Barden and Grimaldi n.sp., preserved in Cretaceous amber from Myanmar. The amber is radiometrically dated at 99 myo. Zigrasimecia is closely related to another basal genus of ants known only in Burmese and French Cretaceous amber, Sphecomyrmodes Engel and Grimaldi, based in...
